research

With a background in sports science, occupational health management and yoga, I offer a perspective that sits at the intersection of movement, wellbeing and human performance. I am available to collaborate with research institutions, universities and organisations as a researcher or consultant.

My Background

I hold two bachelor’s degrees and a master’s degree. A brief overview:

2005 – 2009 BA International Business & Languages @ Fontys University of Applied Sciences, The Netherlands

2009 – 2012 MA Corporate Communication @ Tilburg University, The Netherlands

2018 – 2022 BA Sports Therapy & Prevention @ University of Potsdam, Germany

My academic work was consistently well received, especially my bachelor thesis concluding the Sports Therapy and Prevention degree. It focused on the effectiveness of workplace health management, with a specific focus on improving the working environment rather than influencing individual behaviour. This distinction, changing conditions rather than changing people, remains central to how I think about health, performance and organisational wellbeing.

Alongside my academic background, I have built extensive professional experience in occupational health management at large international organisations including Audible (Amazon) and IKEA Germany. There I led and contributed to projects focused on mental health, physical wellbeing and sustainable performance in the workplace.

Areas of Expertise

Occupational Health Management My strongest area of expertise. I have both the academic foundation and the practical experience to contribute meaningfully to research and consultancy in this field. Particular interest in environmental and systemic approaches to workplace health, though experienced in behavioural measures as well.

Mental Health in the Workplace Through years of professional experience I have worked closely with topics like stress, burnout prevention, psychological safety and sustainable performance. I bring both scientific and human understanding to this field. I implemented the Mental Health First Aid Program at IKEA Germany.

Biomechanics and Movement Science A strong academic interest rooted in my sports science training. I am particularly interested in the relationship between movement quality, injury prevention and long term physical health.

Yoga, Movement and Wellbeing As a 500+ hour trained yoga teacher with a sports science background, I bring a unique perspective to research on yoga, mindful movement and their effects on physical and mental health.

What I Offer

I am available for collaboration in the following capacities:

As a researcher Contributing to study design, data collection, analysis or writing for academic or applied research projects in the fields of occupational health, sports science, biomechanics or yoga and wellbeing.

As a consultant Advising organisations, universities or research institutions on topics related to workplace health management, movement and physical wellbeing, or the integration of yoga and mindful movement into health programmes.

As a subject matter expert Providing input, review or expertise on research projects where a combination of sports science knowledge and practical yoga experience adds value.
